RAPID CONCEPT TO PROTOTYPE

With our motorsport-based culture, we are renowned for our ability to fast track the development and creation of early Technology Readiness Level (TRL) proofs of concept to mid-TRL, physical demonstrators.

Each bespoke multi-skilled project team seeks to firstly understand, then critique ideas with fresh eyes. To meet the most demanding client schedules, they work in sprint cycles to remain as efficient as possible.

Sharing facilities with Prodrive’s world-class motorsport teams means we have one of the UK’s most comprehensive low volume manufacturing operations. Combining the latest rapid prototyping and 3D printing techniques with traditional fabrication, precision machining, electrical and electronic system production, we create confidential prototypes on-site.

FORD TRANSIT HYBRID PROTOTYPE

We helped Ford create the first Transit PHEV (Plug-in Electric Hybrid Vehicle). We were responsible for the integration of the hybrid powertrain systems into an existing Transit platform without any modifications to the engine bay or load capacity.

OPEN VENTILATOR SYSTEMS INITIATIVE

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Prodrive took an original concept from Cambridge University's Whittle Laboratory and in just five weeks turned it into a fully working prototype ready for production.

VOLTA ZERO PROTOTYPE

We worked with Volta Trucks to help bring their zero emission, fully electric mid-sized truck to fruition as fast as possible.
