CLEARMOTION
In order for ClearMotion's active suspension technology to be fitted to various OEMs’ models as demonstrators, Prodrive was drafted in to redesign and fit the OEM parts without compromising performance.
THE
CHALLENGE
ClearMotion aims to do for motion what noise-cancelling does for sound, mitigating roughness within a fraction of a second. Founded at MIT in 2009, to commercialize its proactive ride system it needed to prove to OEM customers & investors that it works. But each model for every OEM has a unique suspension layout. So multiple demonstration vehicles required the reconfiguration of original parts to accommodate ClearMotion.
WHAT
WE DID
For each required vehicle we analyzed the package space & redesigned necessary parts such as dampers & anti-roll bars, to accommodate ClearMotion’s unit whilst retaining the performance criteria of the original vehicle. Prodrive manufactured & integrated all new parts at our Banbury HQ.
THE
RESULTS
Prodrive has become the preferred supplier to ClearMotion, able to integrate the technology to better standards than the OEMs themselves.
To date, we have designed & implemented solutions for 5 successive vehicle demonstrators for multiple OEMs models.
