RANGE ROVER AUTOBIOGRAPHY BLACK
Prodrive designed and manufactured the rear centre console module for the Range Rover SV Autobiography. It is the most sophisticated interior system for a car ever created.
THE
CHALLENGE
Land Rover wanted to attract a new, wealthier type of customer for its new Range Rover, the type of person who would be sat in the rear being chauffeured. So the rear passenger’s experience had to upgraded to match their exacting lifestyle standards.
WHAT
WE DID
We provided a turnkey solution by designing, engineering and producing a console unit all out of our Banbury HQ, manufacturing parts where they did not exist. The console included a chiller, motorized stowable tables, environment controls and all trimmed to match each customer's bespoke cabin choices.
We managed the whole programme, surpassing Land Rover's stringent NVH standards, and delivering units lineside to be fitted directly into the production vehicle.
THE
RESULTS
Producing over 1000 units per year, for a 5-year programme, the unit has been directly responsible for enabling Land Rover to extend their product line to a new higher, price point and target the expanding global customer market of 'New Wealth'.
