HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR
WHAT: Develop a new Hydraulic Actuator to fit inside the outer casting of a small jet engine. The client needed to keep the overall engine size to a minimum, reducing drag and protecting fuel efficiency.
WHO: Industry-leading aircraft engine manufacturer.
RESULTS: Prodrive Advanced Technology were brought in specifically to provide a new perspective. Multiple designs were assessed, with a final prototype made for ongoing engine trials. All fire criteria and weight reduction requirements were met, plus we delivered this project quicker than those dependent on a traditional supply chain.

WHAT: Rapidly design and produce a safety-critical, high-power DC to AC inverter, whilst exploring additive manufacturing techniques.
WHO: Industry-leading aircraft engine manufacturer.
RESULTS: The solution included software, physical enclosures and a 3D printed cooling gallery tested in-house. Delivered within time, the solution met all temperature and pressure targets.
