PRODRIVE WINS 2016 THAMES VALLEY 250 BUSINESS AWARD FOR INNOVATION

Prodrive has won the Thames Valley 250 business award for innovation.  The awards recognise the achievements of the 250 biggest privately-owned companies in the Thames Valley, which have a combined turnover of more than £22 billion.

The innovation award recognised how Prodrive was developing new technologies in the automotive, aerospace, marine and other niche sectors, in addition to race and rally programmes it runs for Aston Martin, MINI and VW.

Prodrive takes many of the ideas and practices used in motorsport to develop innovative technologies for its clients.  Currently the business is working with the Land Rover BAR America’s Cup team to develop control systems for yacht that will challenge for the trophy in Bermuda next year; Prodrive is transferring its electric car technology to help develop electric fuelling systems for commercial jet engines; and is manufacturing the main chassis the European Space Agency’s Mars Rover due to launch in 2020.

David Taylor, Prodrive Advanced Technology, managing director said:  “We were up against some major international technology businesses who are based in the Thames Valley, so it was a real achievement to win this and to highlight just how much innovative work we do in so many different fields now.”
