HIGGINS WINS AS LI TAKES DRIVERS' TITLE
Mark Higgins won the final round of the Chinese Rally Championship in dominant fashion, taking victory by nearly four minutes over second-placed Chris Atkinson in the Subaru and Manfred Stohl in the Mitsubishi.
Chen Dean was fourth and fifth place for Li was enough to secure him his first drivers’ title after 11 years in the championship. The fourth Golf, driven by Lin Dawey, crashed out after initially lying second on SS4.
The result was not enough to clinch a third consecutive manufacturers’ crown, which went to Subaru, but was enough for FAW-VW to win the S6 and teams’ titles.
The 2018 championship kicks off in mid-February, with a winter rally on a frozen lake in Jixi.
