Victory for Aston Martin Racing's GT4 in Dubai

Aston Martin Racing’s Vantage GT4 stormed to a class victory and 16th overall in the Dubai 24 Hours

UAE based AUH Motorsports driver, Humaid Al Masaood teamed with Eric Charles, Alex Kapadia and Michael Prophet to take victory.


The tightly contested SP3 class for GT4 cars saw Aston Martins filling three of the top four positions. British team Nicholas Mee Racing finished third to claim a place on the podium and DXB Racing completed the gruelling endurance contest just one lap behind in fourth.


A large crowd attended the Dubai Autodrome to witness the start of the fifth Dunlop 24 Hours of Dubai, which got underway at 1400 (local time) on 15 January.


In total 74 cars started the race, which was held under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.


There were a number of early minor incidents, one of which involved the winners of last year’s SP3 class, Dubai based DXB Racing’s Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The incident cost the team several places but they fought back to finish fourth in class and 19th overall.


The class victory is a further testament to the performance, durability and reliability of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4, which has become a regular class winner in endurance races around the globe since its inception.
